OCALA--The College of Central Florida women's basketball team fell to Santa Fe College on the road in Gainesville on Wednesday night.
CF led the Saints 19-13 after the first quarter, but Santa Fe went on a 20-0 run in the second quarter to take a 37-24 halftime lead. Santa Fe defense proved too much for the Patriots in as it held the Patriots to just 26 percent from the field to win it 90-50.
Freshman Dariah Bolden had a career-high 22 points and Kierra Patrick added 10 points in the loss.
With the loss, CF drops to third in the conference and will face off against Florida State College at Jacksonville in the first round of the Mid-Florida Conference playoff to be determined. The winner will then play Santa Fe for the second and final spot in the upcoming FCSAA State Basketball Tournament taking place March 7-10 at the College of Central Florida.
