GAINESVILLE- The College of Central Florida women's basketball team got off to a quick start this weekend in the Santa Fe College Tournament.

The Patriots (2-0) rolled to a 70-56 win over Miami Dade on Friday night, before knocking off IMG Academy 89-53.

Against Miami Dade, Thais Oliveira led the way with 16 points, while Valerie Hill and Brittany Grant scored 13 and 11 points respectively.

From there, Oliveira scored 26 points in a rout of IMG, which saw the Patriots build a 47-29 halftime edge.

Quira Demery (11 points), Hill (10 points) and Camila Machado Silva (10 points) also contributed for the Patriots, ranked No. 7 in the state.

The Lady Patriots open up their home schedule on Wednesday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. against Indian River State.
