Ocala, Fla.-- The College of Central Florida men's basketball team is picking up steam.
The Patriots (12-2) rolled to a 84-71 win over State College of Florida-Manatee to close out the first day of the Florida Men's Colleges Shootout at Patriot Gym.
With the win, the Patriots extended the nation's longest homecourt winning streak to 33 games and improved their record to 9-0 against FCSAA Member Schools this season.
CF has also won five straight games overall and knocked off the Manatees (1-13) for the second time this season.
Rasham Suarez (17 points, 5-of-8 from 3-point range), Eric Moeller (13 points), Cody Russell (10 points) and Rodell Wigginton (10 points) led the way for the Patriots in the rout.
On their way to the win, the Patriots shook off a 2-of-10 shooting start and rolled things up on SCF.
Eric Moeller's seven straight points closed an early 13-0 run and CF led 19-10 at the 12:05 mark of the first half.
The Patriots never were challenged the rest of the way and went to halftime with a 41-25 halftime edge.
For the half, CF made 6-of-15 from 3-point range, keyed by Suarez, who made 4-of-7 shots from 3-point range on his way to 14 points.
Sparked by Suarez, the Patriots made 6-of-15 from beyond the arc and forced SCF into misses on all eight of its attempts from long range.
CF returns to action tonight at home against Palm Beach State at 8.
