The Patriots offense unleashed another barrage of hits upon the Indian River pitching staff in game two of the Ft. Pierce regional beating the Pioneers, 12-1. Marcus Bradshaw's towering two out home run to deep right field in the bottom of the fifth inning ended the game via the run-rule and earned the Pats a spot into next weekend's FCSAA Final Four in Port Charlotte. CF out scored the Pioneers in the two game sweep 25-6.
The Pats offense scored early and often as they plated runs in every inning except the third inning. Miles Curley (2H, 2B, 3 RBI), Victor Martinez (2H, RBI), Tanner Swank (3H, 3R, RBI), and Bradshaw (2H, HR, 4 RBI) led the team offensively.
Brayden Toro (5-3) was dominant on the mound as he tossed his fourth complete game of the season going five innings allowing four hits, one run, zero walks, and striking out three.
The FCSAA Final Four will be held in Port Charlotte this year at the Tampa Bay Rays facility. The Pats will play at 5 PM on Friday, May 9th vs the winner of the Gulf Coast State/Miami Dade Regional to open up the tournament. The winner of this four team double elimination tournament will earn a berth into the JUCO World Series held in Grand Junction, Colorado beginning Memorial Day weekend.
With the win CF improves to 36-16 while Indian River finishes their season with a 34-16 record.
