OCALA-- The College of Central Florida women's volleyball team went on the road and picked up another crucial conference win against Eastern Florida State College on Tuesday night in Melbourne, Fla.

FCSAA No. 5 CF (14-10, 2-1 MFC) got out to a 1-0 lead after a commanding 25-13 first-set win. The Titans would answer back to take one set from CF before the Lady Patriots rolled in the next two sets to solidify a 3-1 (25-13, 10-25, 25-17, 25-16) Mid-Florida Conference win. 

Outside hitter Marina Cruz led all scorers with her eighth double-double of the season, recording 14 kills and 18 digs. Middle blocker Veronica Brod Farias added 10 kills and two blocks, while Kariema Rodriguez added eight kills. FCSAA Setter of the Week Maria Idjilov recorded 38 assists on the night with 11 kills for her third double-double as a Patriot and libero Yomaries Villegas notched a team-high 21 assists.

With the win, the Lady Patriots improve to 2-1 conference play and sit in second place, one game ahead of Daytona State College. CF will travel to DSC on Thursday for an all-important conference match as the Patriots and Falcons battle for top two positioning in the conference and a chance to get one step closer to clinching a state tournament spot.
