OCALA-- For the fourth time this season, College of Central Florida freshman setter Nathaly Alvarez has been named FCSAA's Setter of the Week.
Alvarez capped off an impressive regular season this past week, as she averaged 7.0 assists per sets, 2.1 digs and had a .500 hitting percentage.
She had 35 assists and 13 digs in a tough five-set win over St. Johns River, but saved her best for last in the regular season finale against rival Santa Fe.
In the win over the Saints, Alvarez ended with 34 assists and nine digs, as CF clinched its fifth straight Mid-Florida Conference championship.
Currently, Alvarez leads Region 8 in total assists with 1,220. She is third nationally in total assists and assists per set (9.7).
Alvarez is the first CF player to claim four state weekly awards in one season and in an career.
The Lady Patriot volleyball team wraps up its regular season tomorrow as they host Pasco-Hernando State College at 6 p.m. They will honor sophomores Yaralismar Rodriguez and Ashley Hagood prior to the match.
