TAMPA- The College of Central Florida bounced back from its 28-game winning streak against Mid-Florida Conference opponents with three straight wins this past weekend in the Hillsborough Community College Tournament.

The Patriots followed a tough five-set loss to conference rival Daytona State with a sweep of Palm Beach State, a four-set victory over St. Petersburg and topped it off with a five-set triumph over Hillsborough in a rematch of the last two FCSAA state championship matches.

In its opener, CF held a 2-1 lead on Daytona, but the Falcons held a 24-12 edge in kills over the final two sets and pulled out the match with a 15-9 win in the deciding set.

Julymar Perez registered 20 kills and Marcela Frazzoni added 15 kills and 11 digs for the Patriots.

They were backed by Jasmyn Perry (11 kills), Francesca Santeramo (23 digs) and Marina Adami (46 assists), who totaled 136 assists over the four matches.

CF (3-1) bounced back with a sweep of Palm Beach, as Yaralismar Rodriguez finished with 10 kills.

From there, the Patriots began day two of the tournament with a four-set win over St. Petersburg.

CF, though, dominated the fourth set with a 25-12 and closed out the match.

Perez (15 kills), Amanda Saunders (12 kills) and Perry (eight kills) paced the Patriots in the win, while Santeramo (18 digs) and Adami (26 assists) also played key roles.

The main event of the weekend saw CF rally from down 1-0 on its way to holding off the Hawks 15-11 in the final set.

The Patriots won the middle two sets by scores of 25-15, 25-18, however HCC tied things with a 25-18 victory in the fourth.

CF, though, was able to avenge its five-set defeat in last year's championship match.

Frazzoni (15 kills, 14 digs), Adami (48 assists), Santeramo (15 digs) and Perez (15 kills) paced the Patriots in the victory.

CF visits Pasco Hernando on Tuesday night at 7.
