OCALA-- The College of Central Florida women's basketball team defeated conference opponent Florida State College at Jacksonville on Wednesday night at Patriot Gym.

CF only led by three at the end of the first quarter, 14-11, but exploded for a 21-point second quarter to take a 35-17 lead over FSCJ into the half.

The Lady Patriots would go on to hold the Blue Wave to just 25 percent shooting from the field in the second half to complete the 57-42 rout of the Blue Wave.

Sophomore Tiahna Sears led the way for the Lady Patriots, recording 19 points and grabbing six rebounds. Sophomore guard Jada Francois Lubin added 10 points and Hannah King had nine points and six rebounds. Freshman forward Desiree Mack finished with six points and 10 rebounds.

As a team, CF shot 33 percent from the field and out-rebounded the Blue Wave 49-29.

The Lady Patriots will be back on the court when it travels to Daytona State College on Saturday for a conference doubleheader. The women will tipoff at 2 p.m., followed by the men at 4 p.m.
