OCALA-- The College of Central Florida men's basketball team picked up a crucial conference win, defeating Florida State College at Jacksonville 75-67 on Wednesday night at Patriot Gym. With the win, CF improves to 7-3 in conference play and remains one game out of first place.

CF took a 33-24 lead into the half and surged to a game-high 17 point lead, but the Blue Wave came powering back, cutting the Patriot lead to as little as three. FSCJ out-scored CF 43-42 in the second half, but the Patriots held on to secure the win.

As a team, the Patriots shot over 50 percent from the field, while holding the Blue Wave to just 36 percent, and out-rebounded them 42-29. 

Three Patriot players finished in double-figures. Sophomore guard Quenton Jackson led the way with 19 points and five rebounds, while Jeremy Sheppard added 14 points with six rebounds, and Latrell Jones notched 11. 

CF will be back in action on Saturday when it travels to Daytona State College for a conference doubleheader. The women will tipoff at 2 p.m. and the men will follow at 4 p.m.
